Once a month I am going to post a video showing the “exercise of the month.” Planks are a great way to strength the core isometrically, otherwise known as strengthening the muscles in a stabilizing fashion. For beginners, one can do this exercise on the knees. Be sure to keep the belly drawn in to protect the low back. This exercise can be done 2-3 times a week, for 1-3 sets, holding for 15 seconds until fatigue. Discontinue exercise if you experience low back pain. Click on “Plank Exercise” link below for video.
